Lainey Wilson named her forthcoming album Whirlwind because that’s what her life has been since she broke through in 2020 with “Things a Man Oughta Know.” To borrow from the title of her recently released single, she better “Hang Tight” because it’s about to be a tornado.

On the heels last Wednesday’s release of the video for “Hang Tight Honey,” Lainey dropped “Four-by-Four-by-You” (styled “4x4xU”) along with its video the next day. And there seems to be a good reason. Where “Hang Tight” ends, “Four By” begins.

From her romantic lead, to the suitcase full of money, to the actual end of one and the beginning of the other being in the same place, the stories transition from one to the other.

In addition, the tour bus that appears briefly in both videos appears to be a bus once used by Willie Nelson‘s band, and Lainey is wearing the Opry belt buckle presented to her by Reba McEntire.

Will there be another chapter? A conclusion? TBD.
