The Rolling Stones are the subject of a new tribute album, this one by an array of country artists.
Stone Cold Country, in celebration of their 60th anniversary (1963 was when Charlie Watts joined), features Brooks & Dunn, Brothers Osborne, Eric Church, Steve Earle, Jimmie Allen, Elle King, Marcus King, Little Big Town, Ashley McBryde, Maren Morris, Elvie Shane, Koe Wetzel, The War and Treaty, Lainey Wilson and the Zac Brown Band.
Producer Robert Deaton says, “Four years ago, I had this idea… That we are finally here and introducing this project to the world is both gratifying and honestly, overwhelming. I could not be more proud of the artists and musicians that participated on this album. As the song says… ‘It’s Only Rock and Roll (But I Like It).’ I hope everyone will join us in celebrating 60 years of The Rolling Stones.”
The album’s latest single is Marcus King doing “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking” off of 1971’s Sticky Fingers.
