Although she has continued to work and make music, Sara Evans as been pretty closed off about her personal life the past few years.

As you probably remember, Sara and second husband Jay Barker separated after abuse allegations in 2022. Now, she’s telling that story with a new album that’s coming in June, a new song that’s out now, and a new podcast called Diving in Deep With Sara Evans.

In the podcast, an emotional Sara tells the whole story of her tumultuous relationship with Jay, from the realization that there were issues of abuse to the reconciliation and current state of the relationship. She also goes into channeling that story into her upcoming album, Unbroke.

“I wrote so many songs about our situation and it’s funny because the album goes from my lowest point to where I was just, the kids had to say to me, ‘You are not OK.’.”
