We knew Lainey Wilson was performing during the May 21st finale of The Voice and we even suspected she would sing her new song, “Hang Tight Honey,” but we weren’t expecting the big news that Reba McEntire had for the ACM Entertainer of the Year.

Following her performance, The Voice host Carson Daly invited Lainey to the front of the stage for a quick chat, but Reba quickly hijacked the conversation by opening a small black box, that held Lainey’s official invitation to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Fortunately her family was in the audience to witness the magical milestone and there were, of course, tears.

Lainey made her Opry debut on Valentine’s Day of 2020. Her induction will take place June 7th during CMA Fest.
