Gisele Bündchen Traffic Stop

A Florida mayor is showing his support for Gisele Bündchen following her involvement in a traffic stop last week. As we told you, the supermodel was pulled over in South Florida and broke down in tears over the incident. Now, more details are known about what happened and Surfside Mayor Charles Burkett says the way it was handled was “wholly unacceptable.”

Gisele was reportedly pulled over for driving erratically while trying to get away from paparazzi who were following her. She was visibly shaken while talking to the officer, who let her off with a warning. But Burkett sent a letter to the town’s interim Police Chief Henry Doce, writing that he was “dismayed” to watch the publicly released body cam footage of the traffic stop.

The mayor is critical of the officer’s “dismissive posture,” expressing that because Gisele was upset and scared by the paparazzi stalking her, the officer’s response was “everything we do not want to see in the way our police interact and serve our residents.” Burkett writes that the officer should have shown “more empathy” and could have done a better job in the situation.
