Cody Johnson is stepping into a spot that George Strait vacated seven years ago and it isn’t on the stage.

Cody is hosting his first Cody Johnson Championship Event in Belton, Texas October 15th through 19th. The weekend includes the Cojo Open Ropin’ competition with a George Strait-style bracket, along with a golf tournament and a Champs for Charity gala that Cody will emcee.

The George Strait Team Roping Classic ended in 2018 with the 35th annual event.
