Necessity is the mother of invention. An owner of a “carry out only” wine shop employed her dog named “Soda” to deliver bottles.
Stone House Urban Winery co-owner Lori Yata said, (quote) “I hopped online and found a vest with side pockets, perfect to hold two bottles of wine.”
Before the pandemic, Soda spent her days inside the Maryland store. The 75-pound brindle boxer became a mascot of sorts. Once the “stay at home” order went into effect, the regulars missed visiting Soda. Lori Yata had the idea of sending Soda to carry the bottles to cars for curbside delivery.
