Seven members of a reality TV film crew were arrested yesterday at Newark Liberty International Airport when they tried to smuggle a fake bomb through security.
TSA officials say the crew had a bag containing “all the makings of an improvised explosive device” and had planned to film the TSA’s reaction and the panic that would ensue inside the terminal. The crew produces a show called Staten Island Hustle, which was reportedly picked up by CNBC. The crew face multiple charges including conspiracy to create a public alarm. CNBC has not yet commented on the incident.
