TOM HANKS: Commencement Speaker
Tom Hanks delivered an inspirational commencement address to the graduating class at Wright State University.
The class of 2020 cannot celebrate together in Dayton, Ohio. Yet, they were lucky to get Tom Hanks and he kept his virtual speech under five-minutes.
Hanks said that by acting like responsible Americans, the graduating seniors became “enlightened in ways your degree never held in promise. You’ve had to be good Americans. Good Americans who made sacrifices that have saved lives.”
Hanks noted we’re living in a special era. We rang in this New Year in a time we can call “before COVID-19.” Previous generations described their time in unique fashion. Hanks joked, (quote) “Such as ‘before the war,’ or ‘that was before the internet,’ or ‘that was before Beyoncé.’” (E! News)
