How do you keep people at home? Give them free Netflix.

That’s the idea behind a petition demanding 60 days of gratis service from streaming platforms like Netflix, Disney Plus and Amazon Prime.

The petition, which has more than 50,000 signatures, argues that streamers are “vitally important to stem the risk of spreading disease” by keeping people at home.

Netflix could certainly afford it. The company has reportedly added 16 million new subscribers in the first three months of the year, raising its value to $190 billion. That makes Netflix worth more than Disney.
