Monday, July 18 kicks off the Made For The Stage Youth Theatre Workshop, a free workshop for students ages 8 – 18 years old. The fun-filled Theatre Workshop is an introduction to the theatre and will cover topics such as acting, directing, playwriting, auditioning, and much more.

The two-week workshop concludes with a showcase of the student’s talents at Encore Theatre.

Our instructor, Madison Downing is a Sophomore Bachelor of Fine Arts student in the Conservatory of Performing Arts at Point Park University, in Pittsburgh, and a graduate of Shawnee High School. Learning in a conservatory setting, she has direct training with working professionals and has learned, beyond her years, techniques and theatrical knowledge that she desires to pass on to the youth in our community. She hopes to help these students gain a new passion and hobby they can share with their community. Over the past 11 years, she has been closely involved with Encore Theatre as a performer, director, assistant, stagehand and has appeared in over 30 plays here in Lima and Pittsburgh.

The Made For The Stage Youth Theatre Workshop runs July 18 – 28, 2022, Monday through Thursday, from 10:00 – 3:00 pm at The Salvation Army, 614 E. Market St.
