Next year marks the 50th anniversary of Dolly Parton’s induction into the Grand Ole Opry.
To celebrate, the Opry will have a week-long celebration in her honor in October.
She says, “It was always my dream to be on the Opry. I actually got to sing on the Grand Ole Opry when I was about 10 years old. I officially became a member back in 1969 and I cannot believe next year I will celebrate 50 proud years of being a member of the Grand Ole Opry!”
On October 10th, the show will feature performances of Dolly’s number-one hits. The following night she’ll be honored with renditions of her bluegrass, Americana and roots music. Then on October 12th, Dolly will cap off the festivities with an appearance on the show.
More performers will be announced. Tickets for Dolly Week go on sale today.
