Fans of Brett Young will get to hear him do something a little different on the CMA Country Christmas special. He’s channeling his inner blues man for his performance.
Brett Young will present his best R&B grooves on the CMA Country Christmas special: “I grew up listening to a lot of soul and R&B music, and so I know I’m just thought of as like, kind of the balladeer. That is where I naturally gravitate, but I grew up on all kinds of music, and so there’s a Donny Hathaway version of ‘This Christmas’ that I’ve always been a big fan of, so I’m gonna try not to shame him.”
CMA Country Christmas airs tonight (Tuesday) at 9 p.m. ET on ABC, right after Brad Paisley Thinks He’s Special. Trisha Yearwood hosts, and other performers include Kristen Chenowith, For King and Country, Chris Janson, Tori Kelly, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts, Runaway June, Cece Winans and Chris Young.
