Cub Scouting is a year-round program that offers hands-on activities that promote character development and values-based leadership, helping to ensure that boys and girls are better prepared for future success. The Program focuses on helping our communities through service projects, STEM development, and building confident youth through a wide range of fun activities and is designed to develop physical, mental and emotional fitness. Fitness includes the body (well-tuned and healthy), the mind (able to think and solve problems), and the emotions (self-control, courage, and self-respect). The program embraces the outdoors through camping, hiking and water sports, including summer day, overnight and family camping opportunities at Camp Berry and Camp Lakota.
Those registering during the Recruitment Night will receive a free rocket and free admission to Family Fun Day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 22 at Camp Berry near Findlay or Saturday, October 20 at Camp Lakota near Defiance. Family Fun Day provides an opportunity for families to participate in Camp activities such as hiking, climbing, fishing, archery, sports, and rockets. Family Fun Day is also open to non-Scouting families. The cost for the day for non-Scouting families is $5 per person. Families can also join Scouting at this event and their new Scout will have free admission.
