Police in Virginia were called to a residence to look into why someone inside a car was repeatedly honking the horn. But when they arrived, they realized there was no person in the car — just a 200-pound black bear.
Ryan McClanahan was awoken at 5:00 in the morning to the sound of his car horn blaring and called police. Somehow, a bear had opened one of the car’s doors, climbed inside and gotten locked in. Not knowing how to get out, he started honking the horn to get someone’s attention. The officer was able to open the rear door, and the bear eventually found its way out and ran off into the woods.
It’s believed the bear smelled some food inside the car and that’s why it crawled in. The interior of the car suffered some minor damage.
