Darius Rucker continues his acting career playing 1950s singer┬áJohnny Bragg on this week’s episode of the CMT drama Sun Records.

Bragg was lead singer of The Prisonaires, which consisted of men serving time at the Tennessee State Prison in Nashville — and for whom singing was a creative outlet, as well as a public relations tool for the state’s governor. The group enjoyed success with the original doo-wop version of “Just Walkin’ in the Rain,” which was covered in 1956 by white pop artist Johnny Ray.

Darius’s episode of Sun Records debuts Thursday night.
